Why does eclipse insist on the package name of the Android project?

This is a new Android Developer and a newcomer to eclipse

I downloaded and installed

>JDK > Android SDK > eclipse for Java > then download and install the Android ADT plug-in into eclipse

All installed successfully - I did this yesterday (7 / 14 / 11), so I have the latest

In eclipse, I select "new project" and then select "Android - > Android project" for the project type

Then I enter the new project window in eclipse, which requires three things:

1) Project name – done. I named my first Android project "myandroidone"

2) I select the create new project in workspace radio button

3) I chose 'Android 2.2' for 'build target'

4) I accept eclipse's suggestions for 'application name' and "myandroidone"

I don't know what eclipse wants in the 'package name' field. Although I know 'java package', what puzzles me is that eclipse may want me to specify a java package here - after all, I create a new project and have no idea. It is all new for Android. If there is any Java package, I will be using it

I tried to enter "pkgmyardroidone", but the "next" button doesn't light up

I can't create a new Android project - I haven't written a line of code yet, I just want to create an eclipse Android project to start teaching myself how to write my first Android application

What does eclipse want?

resolvent:

The short answer is that Android itself needs a package name to run applications

Just create a name "wantthebest. Playground. Firstapp" as the package name. You should have no problem

If you want to publish an application in the market, the application will be updated with the package name. It is basically permanent at this point
