What language can replace Java?

I may release a premature question. Maybe I'm just scared for no reason, but the way Oracle handles Java is not very promising I'm a nerd who fell in love with Java at first sight and has been using it in my personal / freelance projects, but now I'm considering replacing it

I am also proficient in c# / VB Net, but I'm looking more like:

>Open source > compilation > cross platform > object oriented > large standard library > extensive documentation > Web development is an important advantage

I'm considering compromises: Python / Django for web development (or PHP) and QT for fat client development Who has a better idea?

Not long ago, I decided to stay away from the JVM I set foot in Python, even if I'm not at the expert / Master level, I don't regret it I didn't choose c# (consider it) because I think it's more the same I know (and a lot of) C, so Python seems to be something new, which is exactly what I want

It meets many of your requirements In particular, I decided not to learn PHP, so the web framework in Python is very good

Not to mention that Python has a large community (see also here) and is always eager to help and teach, which I think is very important
