I created this test case to isolate my problems Once the Ajax update is polled, the A4J: commandlink operation will not be performed If we close the modal panel before polling the rerender, we execute it

Try any combination of the following:

>Move < A4J: Form > outside modal group > set domelementattachment attribute to form or parent > try using < H: Form >

Try the following instead of < A4J: commandlink >:

And use onhide = "notifyclose()" on the modalpanel, where < A4J: jsfunction > is used to define notifyclose() This is a solution, but it may work
