Java based web framework alternatives
I tried to choose a Java based web framework to start a new project, so far I have a little troublesome decision I have been using ordinary GWT. I have to say that it is very good. The architecture, API and documentation are very good, but I lack the knowledge of applying CSS and beautiful widgets, so I need some things, including GWT ext is excluded from GWT, ext GWT is good, but they are completely separated from GWT and implement everything again (data storage, events, etc.) and licenses I found that about vaadin, it seems quite good, except that it improves the weakness of GWT (in my opinion), everything is client-side, pre rendering (the whole website is on the client, even if, let's say, your client has not been certified) The only thing about vaadin is that I don't see many widely used, maybe recent, so I can't get a lot of opinions
Any solution proposed does not have to be based on GWT, but it integrates JS and Java in a good way, abstracted from Java and Java developers. In order to develop the web, I need to learn all the benefits of JS applications
Therefore, basically: Java developers need opinions on different Java - based web frameworks Requirements: no in-depth CSS or JS knowledge is needed to use it (basic knowledge is of course necessary, but I don't want to fix too many internal). Good and acceptable widgets already include the ability to use java development tools / technologies (eclipse, NetBeans, etc.)
As you can see, GWT meets almost all my requirements, which is my first choice, but now I want more feedback on other options Thank you first, tetO
Solution
Okay,
In my opinion, you should invest time in CSS The network without CSS just requires trouble Most web frameworks will need some HTML and CSS for the final presentation They may be abstract, but they can't understand the underlying technology. When you need to use special things in the UI, you will always get into trouble
Imagine writing a UI without learning the concept of layoutmanagers
