Java – JMF video capture on MacBook Air

I'm trying to use a webcam on my MacBook Air through JMF, but jmfinit doesn't seem to be able to find it I get the following output:

Looking for Audio capturer
Finished detecting javasound capturer
Looking for video capture devices
Capture device detection Failed!

What do I have in mind for JMF to find the webcam?

Using JMF registry, I click "detect capture device", but it only lists the "javasound audio capture" device (it existed before detection because jmfinit has added it to the registry)

Editor: the best guess is that since JMF has not been updated in about 4 years, it is not applicable to OS X lion My solution is to switch to using LTI civil

Try running the mediaplayer.exe included with JMF If it can get webcam input, the source code will be displayed to you
