Rest – Jersey conflicts with javax Servlet

I'm using Jersey and Maven to build a simple rest service For Jersey versions greater than 1.8, the web. In IntelliJ XML will throw this error:

'com.sun.jersey.spi.container.servlet.ServletContainer' is not assignable to 'javax.servlet.Servlet'

Who knows how to solve this problem in order to use the latest version of Jersey?

Solution

For everyone who has the same problem - this is because you don't have a servlet API in your classpath Just add servlet API dependencies to your project and everything will be fine
