JavaFX 2.0 game engine / framework – how will JavaFX 2.0 change java games?

I realize that JavaFX 2.0 has only appeared for a short time, but I hope someone knows about the FX 2.0 game engine (even such a project in open source development)? I never found it – so if you do, please point me in the right direction

I also want to know javafx2 0 will change java game programming From what I read and my small experiments, I can certainly say that coding is more pleasant I believe it runs on a faster hardware accelerated graphics engine than conventional Java swing or AWT based things But is it enough to support any complex whole game framework?

Solution

JavaFX is ideal for browser - based simple / 2D games - the most common area of flash today reason:

>Excellent performance of 2D applications (making good use of hardware acceleration under the hood) > very easy to skin with CSS – web designers will like this > the new JavaFX 2.0 API is very suitable for pure Java (or other JVM languages, such as Scala and clojure) > cross platform, so it can cover as many audiences as possible

It is unlikely to be suitable for complex / high-performance 3D games that require an appropriate OpenGL game engine (such as jmonkey engine)

I think the jury is still in the middle of the game (shooting games, third person perspective RPG, RTS games, etc.) These games do not necessarily need a complete 3D engine, but need good, smooth graphics performance I doubt that JavaFX may work well on modern hardware, but I strongly recommend that you make a rapid prototype to check whether the performance meets your requirements
