Java – jvisualvm for Linux console?

I need to be able to do some memory sampling on a VM running on a Linux machine that is not running any x windows I tried to do it remotely, but obviously jvisualvm does not support remote memory sampling

What choice do I have?

Solution

This depends on the type of sampling you want Jmap console tool (from JDK bin folder) allows some kind of memory dump, etc
